Energica is back

Energica Back on the Road. Under that name, Energica officially opened a new chapter in Milan on Wednesday 4 November, during EICMA week.
The venue was well chosen: the Fonderie Napoleoniche, an old foundry where material was once given a new life. A fitting place for a brand that is rebuilding itself. The bikes looked stunning, the atmosphere was unmistakably Italian, and press, dealers and people close to the brand turned out in large numbers. Behind the presentation was a concrete story.
The restart is official
Energica has been acquired by Energica Pte. Ltd., a Singapore company backed by international private investors. The brand, the intellectual property, the patents and the existing type approvals have all been retained.
Just as important: the technical knowledge has stayed. Design, engineering, development and responsibility for technical and quality standards remain in Italy. Giampiero Testoni, involved with Energica from the very beginning, leads technical development as CTO, together with designer Paolo Imeni and a growing R&D team.
Production is moving to Asia. This way the new Energica combines Italian development and technical control with production at a clearly lower cost. Every motorcycle is built to Energica's specifications, under the supervision of the Italian team.
The Experia comes first
The Energica Experia is the first model to go back into production. According to the presentation, the production line is nearly ready and optimised. The first motorcycles are expected to be delivered in early 2027.
After that, the rest of the familiar range follows step by step:
- Ego
- Eva Ribelle
- EsseEsse9
The restart builds on the existing platforms, which are already developed and homologated. No fundamental technical changes are therefore expected for the first production series. You can see this in the new technical documentation for model year 2026 as well: the Experia keeps the familiar battery with 22.5 kWh maximum capacity and the existing PMASynRM platform. The familiar technical data for Ego, Ribelle and EsseEsse9 are included again too.

Prices around 20 percent lower
One of the most striking announcements is about price. Thanks to the new production structure, Energica expects to lower prices by around 20 percent compared with the previous price level. This is also stated in the official press information.
Technically, Energica has a remarkable product. With a lower cost price the brand becomes a lot more competitive, without the platform having to be completely redeveloped first.
The technology moves on
The first bikes build on proven technology, and it does not stop there. A new battery has been announced for a next phase. Energica is also working on more range, efficiency, performance and above all reliability. Customisation gets more attention too, with lighter versions and carbon fibre bodywork.
The plan therefore has two phases:
- Phase one: get Energica producing and delivering again as quickly as possible, based on proven and homologated technology.
- Phase two: develop the platform further.
Charging at Tesla Superchargers
Energica is working to make its motorcycles able to charge at all Tesla Superchargers. This requires a hardware change, expected to be a new charge manager.
That is good news for the large group of Energicas already on the road: the solution may also be intended for existing owners. Energica is still working out how and when it will become available. Read more about charging on Charging.
Energica Owners' Lounge
Energica is going much further with connectivity. Under the name Energica Owners' Lounge comes a digital platform around the motorcycle and its owner, with four parts:
- Community connects riders and combines routes, rides, charging options, the weather and who is up for a ride.
- Collection with riding gear, accessories and products in Italian design.
- Garage is the digital home for your motorcycle and its maintenance.
- Ride Intelligence analyses ride data and gives you insights and recommendations.
The hardware for this is also intended for Energicas already on the road. The conversations also made clear that this data is valuable not only for the community, but also for engineering and service.
Existing riders first
Supporting the existing fleet is just as important as building new motorcycles. Many Energicas are on the road worldwide, and their owners have simply kept on riding.
Service has restarted and parts supply is gradually getting under way. The Italian technical team supports dealers and owners, and Energica is rebuilding an international network of dealers and authorised service points. On 15 November 2026 Energica will publish an updated list of dealers and service centres.
Energica ReCharge has also been announced, a programme for existing owners. We will share more information about it soon. The message is clear: the existing community is an important part of the restart.

What's next?
On 4 November Energica showed that the restart goes beyond plans. There is technical documentation again, the familiar models are back in the catalogue, production of the Experia is being prepared, service is running again, parts supply is getting under way and the international sales structure is being built.
The next steps are under way for us as well. Electric Motorcycles is further developing its contact with Energica, and in mid November we will visit the new production facility in Bangalore, India.
Our take after Milan
For the first time since the standstill there is a concrete plan again for production, service, parts and further development. The Experia is the first to go back on the road, followed by Ego, Eva Ribelle and EsseEsse9.
Since 4 November the road back has become a lot more concrete. We will keep you posted.
